Anxiety is one of the ways our mind keeps us safe, from being careful crossing a busy road, handling a pan of boiling water. There is a time and place to be anxious.
Unfortunately sometimes anxiety goes into overdrive and we lose the ability to put our anxious thoughts into perspective and at this point anxiety can become a problem and start restricting your life.
Many clients I see, have had the physical symptoms and didn’t realise that they were related to the anxiety, so I thought it would be helpful to list some of the physical symptoms.
Sweaty palms
Going hot and cold
Stomach ache/nausea
The need to urinate more often
Shortness of breath
Diarrhoea
Tiredness
Insomnia
Pins and needles
Headaches
Weak limbs
Racing heartbeat
Dizziness
Confusion or fuzziness
Obviously some of the above symptoms can also be caused by a physical condition so if you have concerns please seek medical help but I just wanted to share how some symptoms are related purely down to anxiety too.
There are many ways to reduce anxiety using different techniques, box breathing, grounding techniques. By challenging your anxious feelings/thoughts, to learn how to relax your mind and perhaps discover where the anxiety started and get to the route of the problem.
